What's Your Magic Pill?

When it comes to Nutrition, you’ll often hear the phrase, “There’s no magic pill that works for everyone”. Most nutrition coaches and nutrition experts will agree that this statement is absolutely true. It would be silly to think that the exact nutrition strategy that works for your friend, boss, or coach will work for you.

However, we continue to hear it all the time. “Paleo is the only way!” “No, you need to count your Macros” “Keto!” Diet strategies have been around for decades. As time goes on, they will get recycled and repackaged with different names and different experts vouching for them.

So why do we keep trying to seek out the ONE THING that will magically make us thinner, more muscular, fitter, etc.?

We all want to look and feel our best. But the truth is, finding YOUR magic pill takes time and effort.

You are unique in every single way. Physiologically, emotionally, and psychologically. Things like age, sleep, stress, lifestyle, and habits are also factors in how you will respond to a nutrition plan. Are you an athlete? A weekend warrior? Just starting a fitness routine?

It takes time and experimenting to figure out the right strategy for you. If it’s Keto or Macros, then great! But it’s also OK if the plan doesn’t have a fancy name. It might just be cutting back on processed foods and adding in more vegetables and healthy fats.
Here are 4 Tips to keep in mind when seeking a nutrition plan:

Set Realistic Expectations
You will not see major results in 1 day or 1 week. Look for milestones of progress at 6 weeks, 12 weeks, etc.

Listen to Your Body
If there’s one thing to remember, it’s this. Pay attention to what your body is trying to tell you.   Do you feel energized or tired after eating certain foods? Are your cravings coming from hunger or emotion? Do you have bloating and inflammation?

Experiment
It’s OK to try different nutrition strategies. If one doesn’t work, it doesn’t mean you failed. Try something else

Talk to a Nutrition Coach
A nutrition coach can help cut through the nutrition noise that’s everywhere. They can help guide you in the right direction and be a source of information and accountability
